External Funding Opportunities

The Grants will support all areas of research undertaken by CMA and servicemembers in the Jamaica Defence Force.

Servicemembers will be not be eligible for more than one award at any one time or during a cycle unless the second award is as a member of an inter-disciplinary team across Units/Brigades.

The availability of grant funds will vary. It will depend on the type of candidate (service member, student, staff, alumni, or external candidate) as well as the structure of the proposed research or applied project team. While only research proposals or applied projects that are determined to be of exceptional scholarly merit will be funded, proposals submitted by students will be considered for funding from a separate pool in an effort to recognize new and emerging scholar-practitioners.

Proof of compliance with the Ethics Committee or an externally approved ethics committee regarding the protection of human subjects in research will be required in order for any grant monies to be disbursed to the recipient.
